Over Labor day weekend Angie, Caleb and Deacon were in town for Tara's wedding. It was crazy to see Deacon after only seeing pictures for the past three months. He is defiantly grown up and is a big boy now! Despite the weather we were able to capture a few pictures of the cousins. Here they are.

A Week Full of Firsts

This week was a busy week around our household. Tuesday marked the beginning of a new school year for Mike and I. Samuel started 4 year old preschool on Wednesday and had his first soccer game this morning. We are all a bit tired and wondering how the rest of the busy fall will go. Here are a few pictures of Samuel's firsts this week.

Branch County 4-H Fair

Last week was the Branch County 4-H Fair. Wednesday morning I was able to take the summer school kiddos I have been working with so Mike and the boys joined us. We made it through all the animal barns and stayed far away from all the rides, games and fair food. They loved it and we all got our fill! Mike was left in charge of the camera...here are some pics!

Tower Family Visit

A few weeks ago we were so excited to welcome the Tower Family to our little family farm. It was so nice to spend the afternoon with them and be able to reconnect after being gone for so long. It is amazing that the world just kept moving while we were in Seattle. It is hard to believe that thier kids are getting so big and that nearly four years has passed.

Anyway, we had a great afternoon together. The kids played so nicely together. There was lots of playing, swimming and even a bit of a rescue! We also were able to have a great dinner together before it was time for them to head back. We look forward to being able to come up and visit them again soon. Thanks for visiting us Tower family! Lets do it again soon!

Tunnel Park

Last week we headed up to Tunnel Park to meet some friends of ours. We are actually connected because Mike and Ron worked together back at Grandville where Mindy additionally subbed. Mindy and I became connected through our love for photography. You can check out some of her awesome work here.

Mindy was able to capture some great family pictures that you can see here. Additionally I was able to capture a couple before my camera died on me. I am not sure why they are all of Liam, probably because Samuel was too busy getting soaked. Anyway, we had a ton of fun and will be hitting the beach again soon.

Birthday Parties

A few weeks ago we celebrated the boys birthdays with one big party. We had all the family and friends over for a day of playing and eating. The boys love being outside so they were thrilled to have their party in the back yard. We had all sorts of fun including a bounce house, a huge sandbox, a swimming pool and a pinata. The adults also were able to join in the festivities with horseshoes, ladderball and cornhole. Here are a few pictures from the day.
The pull string pinata. Mike thought it wasn't a real pinata unless you hit it with a bat. I thought it would be safer for a kids party! The kids still loved when the candy fell out.
The boys loved opening gifts and would get so excited with everything. Liam loved his bubble mower. He opened it yelled "bubbles!" then looked at me and asked "ME!" When he was told that it was for him he raised his arms up and yelled "yeah!"

I also decided that instead of spending a ton of money on special cakes that I would try to do them myself. Mike and I had a ton of fun planning and decorating the cakes. The boys loved them. I believe we have established a new tradition.

We ended the evening with a bonfire complete with Smores. Lots of fun!

On each of the boys individual birthdays we also had dinner with my parents, swam and had cake. They also got a few presents that night. For some reason I don't have pictures of Samuel's but here are some of Liam's. We had lots of fun celebrating the boys birthdays this year. Happy Birthday boys!
